NAMMCO/JCNB Joint Scientific Working Group

Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee provides scientific advice in response to requests from the Council, utilising to the extent possible existing scientific information. The Rules of Procedure govern the Committee's functions. The NAMMCO Scientific Committee comprises members appointed by the member nations. Members of the Secretariat are ex officio, non-voting members. The current Chair of the Scientific Committee is Tore Haug (Norway) and the Vice-Chair is Bjarni Mikkelsen (Faroe Islands).

The NAMMCO Scientific Committee meets annually, usually in the Fall. Reports from past meetings can be found here. The next meeting is scheduled for 4-7 November 2016 and will be held in Nuuk, Greenland.
