12 February 2026: The report of the 32nd Meeting of the NAMMCO Scientific Committee has been published online!
The 32nd Meeting of the NAMMCO Scientific Committee was held at the Faroe Marine Research Institute in Tórshavn (Faroe Islands) on 19–22 January 2026. Chaired by Dr Sandra Granquist (Iceland), the meeting brought together scientific delegates from NAMMCO member countries to review and discuss species assessment work done in the previous year and all scientific updates relevant to NAMMCO’s work.
The conclusions from the meeting allowed for new proposals and recommendations to be made regarding conservation, management, and research of marine mammals.
In addition to the members of NAMMCO’s Scientific Committee and Secretariat, local scientists, observers from Japan, and invited experts from the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Canada joined the meeting.
