NAMMCO Scientific Publications
The NAMMCO Scientific Publications series was established to make available in published, peer-reviewed form, scientific knowledge that is important for decision-making on the conservation and management of marine mammals. The NAMMCO Scientific Committee provides scientific advice on marine mammal species and stocks in the North Atlantic in response to requests forwarded to it by the Council of NAMMCO. Most volumes are organised around a theme, which has often been connected to the requests for advice received by the NAMMCO Scientific Committee.
GUARDNA, NAMMCO’s educational platform
GUARDNA is an educational programme for young people aged 7-20, exploring marine mammals, their uses, users, and the threats they face in the North Atlantic. Developed with partners in Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, and Norway the programme promotes critical thinking through interactive learning and will be available in seven languages.

Dissemination in academic and educational settings
Through collaborations with UiT The Arctic University of Norway and DIS Copenhagen, the NAMMCO Secretariat delivers lectures on whaling, sealing, sustainability, governance, and marine mammal management. These sessions offer students insight into Arctic and North Atlantic realities and international cooperation.
