21 June 2023: Report of the Coastal Seals Working Group meeting now available

The Coastal Seals Working Group (CSWG) met from the 8th to the 11th of May 2023 at the Greenland Representation in Copenhagen, under the Chairmanship of Kjell Tormod Nilssen (IMR, Norway) and with participants from Iceland, Greenland, The Faroe Islands, Sweden, UK, Norway and the USA.

This was the fourth meeting of the CSWG and the first physical one since 2016. At this meeting, updates on current research and population status of grey and harbour seals in the North Atlantic were provided and new recommendations for research, conservation and management of coastal seals in the NAMMCO countries were formulated, together with recommendations on sustainable removals from small coastal seal stocks.
