3 September 2021: Opening of IUCN Congress

The IUCN World Conservation Congress has officially been opened today in Marseille. At this event, scientists, business leaders and policy experts from around the globe come together to set priorities and drive conservation and sustainable development action.

Starting today, NAMMCO’s Secretariat is holding an exhibition booth, to showcase NAMMCO’s vision of a sustainable north. NAMMCO hopes to open a dialogue on how a well-managed hunt of marine mammals can contribute to sustainable food systems (socially, economically, and environmentally), and thereby the resilience of coastal communities.
