6 February 2023: Report of the Joint NAMMCO/JCNB Disturbance Workshop is now available

The Disturbance Workshop of the NAMMCO-JCNB Joint Working Group (JWG) on narwhal and beluga took place from the 12th to the 16th of December 2022 at the Greenland Representation in Copenhagen, under the leadership of Co-Chairs Cortney Watt (JCNB) and Roderick Hobbs (NAMMCO), and with participants from Canada, Greenland, Denmark, Norway and the USA. This Workshop assessed the impacts of both shipping and mining activities of  the Mary River (Baffin Island, Canada) and Dundas (Wolstenholme Fjord, Greenland) mining projects on marine mammals, with special focus on narwhal and walrus populations located in these areas.
