6 March 2024: The Report of the Committee on Inspection and Observation is now available!

The Committee on Inspection and Observation (CIO) is responsible for overseeing and monitoring human activities, such as hunting, through the implementation of the Observation Scheme. This scheme has the purpose of collecting reliable information on hunting all kinds of activities to evaluate is the recommendations given by NAMMCO are implemented and serve their purpose. The CIO, chaired by Ulla S. Wang (Faroe Islands) held its last meeting online on the 22nd of February 2024. The Committee evaluated past observation activities and discussed ways to make these activities more effective. Focusing on improving communication is a key to increase cooperation and trust between the involved parties.
