22 May 2025: The reports from the 32nd meeting of the NAMMCO Council and the Management Committees are now online!
This year’s meetings were held in Tromsø, Norway, from 25 to 27 March 2025, with representatives from all four NAMMCO member countries, as well as observer states and inter- and non-governmental organisations.
The Management Committees forwarded three new proposals for conservation and management to the Parties, alongside six new research recommendations, concerning both cetacean and seal species. You can read all the advice and recommendations here.
At the Council meeting, discussions included the outcomes of the 2024 North Atlantic Sightings Survey (NASS), updates on the MINTAG satellite tagging project, progress on welfare work following the international Marine Mammal Welfare Workshop co-organised with Japan, and the progress of NAMMCO’s new educational project, GUARDNA.
