30 April 2025: 7th Marine Mammal Student Symposium

On 10 April, NAMMCO hosted the 7th Annual Marine Mammal Student Symposium in Tromsø, bringing together students and early-career researchers from marine biology and the law of the sea. 

This year’s theme, “Exploring the Digital Deep: Technologies Shaping Marine Mammal Research and Management” sparked thoughtful discussion on the role of innovation in marine mammal science and policy. 

With over 90 people registered, the event featured four keynote speakers and eight student presentations, highlighting the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing emerging challenges in the Arctic and beyond.
