Basic salary: Negotiable within the professional UN scale P3/P4
Duration: Four years, renewable
NAMMCO: Intergovernmental Organisation / Provides Parties ̶ Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and Norway ̶ with management advice on sustainable and responsible use of marine mammals / Contributes to a sustainable North and fulfilling UN SDGs / Reconciles hunting and use / Conserves biodiversity and livelihoods / Holistic approach to conservation / Sustainability, Responsibility and Transparency.
The Secretary General: Higher university degree or a proven relevant qualifications and experience / Good diplomatic, representational, cross-cultural communication and managerial skills / Experience in strategic planning and financial administration / Excellent level of spoken and written English / Motivated to live in the Arctic / An understanding of the challenges impacting the Arctic / Understanding of the challenges in wildlife management / Team player.
The team and work: Support the Commission in developing and implementing its objectives and priorities / Small, international, and engaged Secretariat with teamwork as key / Variation of tasks and challenges / Demanding and sometimes hectic work but filled with many interesting and rewarding moments and encounters / Large multi-cultural network / Situated in the Arctic in an area known for its beautiful outdoors.
